Currently, the President is meeting with young people and family of victims about our country's gun violence. If you aren't watching, here is a link to the live broadcast.

Students in northern Kentucky walked out for seventeen minutes today, to show support for their Florida peers. They were not penalized for doing so. I expect we'll see more walk-outs, and I expect most of the kids have enough sense to keep them disciplined and focussed. They understand quite well that this is not an excuse to cut school.

I tend to agree, but when the time away is spent lobbying for even more gun laws, I say keep them in class.

I just looked it up and Needville is in Texas. I would definitely advise missing time from a Texas school.

The gun lovers should be outraged that the school is violating their first amendment rights. I mean, they cry and pout if you even mention gun control. This is a much more obvious violation so I hope to see the same outrage.

Yep, I bet Thomas Jefferson and the rest were shaking in their boots because they might be " suspended".

This country was built on the backs of brave people who were willing to stand up for what they believe, and these kids are true heros and patriots.

Would be funny if every kid walked out, and they suspended all of them. The classrooms would be empty !! I am so proud of these young people, they have guts.

This post explains why the US ranks near the bottom in PISA scores.

It's a shame he's like every other politician. He tells people what they want to hear to pacify them. It's sad really. I've worked in politics, so I know whereof I speak. He'll tell them about banning bump stocks and increasing background checks, then like he did with the Russian sanctions, just conveniently forget all about it. I just hope these young people keep going and will not be deterred.

They can protest all they want over the weekend. On their own time.

Watch no one show up.
