www.nra.com I told you the one speaking was a member of NRA. That was a clue. First person to pop up was the man who did the speech. I don't use Google. They are too nosey.
The usual term is "reference librarian". Do you have an MLS or MALS of MLIS?
Academic and research librarians are specialists employed by colleges or research libraries that house in-depth information on a particular subject. Research librarian positions require a Master of Library Science (MLS) degree. Education and research librarians make up 17 percent of all library professionals.
Re. Colton Haag: It seems he wanted to deliver a rather lengthy speech at the question and answer session provided for parents and students by CNN. CNN told him this would not work for this occasion as time would not permit him to speak at length and yet allow others to participate. CNN then offered him some sample questions, to clarify how the program would be conducted, and he pouted and claimed he was being censored and fed questions.
At which point CNN posted their explanation on their site and invited Colton to appear on another of their programs, at which time he could express his views more fully. I have not heard if he has accepted this offer.
CNN's program, CNN's rules regarding structure and time constraints. Not what I'd term censorship.
It's certainly CNN's right to disallow a lengthy speech for an event not designed for such. The only clarification needed on CNN's part is to restate to the student that the aforementioned event is for asking questions only. CNN offering so-called sample questions is a separate and distinct proposition, however, and should raise a red flag. That is, unless anybody is deluded enough to believe that this particular student wouldn't (or couldn't) understand the difference between giving a speech and asking a question -- an assertion that would be rather insulting to this young man's intelligence.
I'm glad CNN has extended an offer for him to appear on another program for a more in-depth discussion, but I can't help but question their motives.
I also chuckled a bit at the following as well: "CNN did not provide or script questions for anyone in last night’s town hall, nor have we ever." Guess they forgot about Donna Brazile, with whom they severed ties only after she was caught..

Makes perfect sense to me. Thanks for sharing this information. Can't rep you right now though I'd like to.
I watched the video of David Hogg rehearsing what he was going to say. A crisis actor he is not. An actor he is not. He may want to be a journalist and comes across as phony and I think he is making the most of this for his own gain and there is definitely pressure on him to do this. But we've come to not expect much from what passes for journalists these days. If he lacks talent he can always snag a job on CNN, they hire anybody and ethics are not a consideration.
As a retired research librarian, I sometimes forget some people do not know how to search or did you even try? I found this in seconds. https://home.nra.org/
You can watch the whole speech. I am sure you need to hear it.
I listened up to the 34 minute mark (W. LaPierre CPAC 2918 speech) and Parkland was barely even mentioned. Not one mention of any law being broken.

People criticizing David Hogg are totally tone deaf. He's a kid! He's just been through a horrific event that would rattle most adults to their core! He's living in the here and now and reacting to what's happened to him and not plotting out how he can take the deaths of 17 people in his school and turn them into a career move. As for the "coaching" I've seen people here and elsewhere say that he's gotten from his father who is retired from the FBI. His father retired because he's got Parkinson's disease. I doubt he's doing much coaching and if he was wouldn't it be normal for fathers to give their kids a few pointers if they were going to appear on national TV in such a widely viewed forum?

And sexually has what exactly to do with anything remotely related to mass shootings? Whether you've got an outie or an inie doesn't invalided anyone's opinions.

I, too, am a reference librarian who taught research at both secondary and post-secondary schools.
I have an MLS but don’t know what those other three letter acronyms denote.

Oh, my goodness. I sure am glad I don’t live under the same roof as you!
