When I saw the kids stand up and speak, I KNEW the alt-right would attack them mercilessly, and it is exactly what happened.
It has just been a week. The kids are being used as tools as well as being opportunists themselves. This David kid aspires to be tv "journalist" and I'm sure his family is encouraging him to take this opportunity to get his face out there. Let's not let this crisis go to waste when we can become famous. He is actually terrible at it as he struggles to get the right words out in that silly interview where they tell him what to say. But I don't think he is an actor, just a typical kid in YouTube age looking for a little fame. None of these kids really understand the complexity of this issue. This is sad, it really isn't about the dead classmates.
There are truly despicable people who are denigrating these kids or questioning their authenticity. Kids who just watched classmates, teachers, and friends get shot up. Good for them for turning their grief to anger and action.

How do you know what they understand?
We've elected a bunch of supposedly intelligent educated adults to Congress who have done NOTHING to protect these kids. They stand idly by while shooting after shooting happens. These kids' voices deserve to be heard.
