What you forget is the Democratic minds of Liberal Intellect, knew how to read into the news of the day, during the Vietnam War, to see and know that we had no business or cause in Vietnam, and Later the PENTAGON PAPERS, PROVED THEM RIGHT.
How could they trust the establishment to maintain Drafting People, for the sake of the "Military Industrial Complex and the Right Wing Administration's Ideology". Of PROFIT BY ANY MEANS... AT ANY EXPENSE OF THE PEOPLE.
They were not Anti Military as a Civil Service... They were Anti War set up by War Profiteers at the expense of the working poor and peace loving people, who preferred DIPLOMACY over War... and had a sense of Respect for Poor People around the world.
They saw there was no point into bombing poor people, and their hard working agriculture life efforts, into oblivion... All just so some big companies could make a massive fortune from weapons productions and war equipment production.
But... when has any Conservative Right Winger Understood anything of such Civility and Civil Discord and the concerns for Diplomacy ? Heck, most of them still think in Jim Crow Groomed Ideology, and John Wayne the Great White Hero Melodrama Fictions.
Most of them (Conservative Right Winger) can't even get over the obsession with Guns... to the point they support the ignorance of Assault weapons in the hands of a Civil Citizen Population. Even while children are being killed in Schools and people being shot up in the Church Building... or at a Entertainment Event.
Right Winger and Trump is too ate up with madness and Right Wing Politicians too bought out and paid for by campaign contribution from the NRA to even stand up and face the fact that Assault Weapons have no place in Civic Minded American Citizens Hands.
