He sounded like a nice young man.

My heart goes out to his family and friends.

The part about him calling in sick jumped right out at me..........he took this step himself.

If so, she had more than just a headache.

Got passed over for promotion, was upset, took a "sick day" to de-stress.

Especially at certain jobs (like oh....government) you get so many sick days and people use them for a variety of reasons.

If you think that taking a sick day when not sick by a govt. employee is fishy.....well, I think you should think that one over a little more.

This makes it a bit more interesting...

Missing CDC scientist told neighbor to erase phone number before disappearance

Cunningham found out that he wasn't getting an expected promotion on Feb. 5 -- one week before he vanished. Cunningham called out sick for work on Thursday and Friday of that week, and then returned to the CDC office in Chamblee on Monday, Feb. 12. That morning, he met with a supervisor who explained why he did not receive the promotion. Shortly after that, Cunningham said he felt sick and went home.

...
O'Connor said that the case was extremely unusual because they've been able to locate all of Cunningham's belongings, including his wallet, cell phone, car keys and other important cards and documents.

"Every single belonging that we are aware was located in that residence," O'Connor said.

...
Police did confirm that Cunningham told a neighbor to tell his wife to erase his phone number from her phone on the day before he disappeared. O'Connor said they'd talked to that neighbor but offered no other details about what that exchange might have meant.

Found the keys in the car... whatever the case may be, it doesn't sound like he was coming back to the car.

You mean they let the guy wander around for a week or more in public not knowing whom else he might be telling or going to a news outlet? Posting a bunch of stuff to the internet?

Also, what do you mean "usually is"?
