What does public education have to do with talking politics in HS to a date? Many people are not informed about politics. Were these the type of people you were dating? It seems like it has carried over to your married life.

No, it really hasn't. Only online have I 'unfollowed' some of my family because of their constant political posting. I come here to do that.

But when we get together ~ we can still have some drinks and argue politics.

My family (no matter how misguided) will be there for me if I need them ~ not some politician in Washington.
