Looks like most Americans donít give a crap about the NRA. Good to know. Maybe their aura of invincibility, especially on the right, is coming to a well deserved end.

Surveys by YouGov BrandIndex, which measures the reputation of prominent brands on an ongoing basis, has found no meaningful decline in the reputation of companies such as United, Delta, Avis, MetLife and Symantec. All have ended affiliations that gave NRA members discounts or perks.

In some cases, the reputational score of such companies actually improved slightly. Unitedís score, for instance, improved by 4.6 points, while Deltaís went up by 1.5 points. YouGov computes scores by asking survey respondents whether they have a positive or negative impression of a brand. The worst possible score is -100 (totally negative) while the best is 100 (totally positive).

LOL most people don't even know about those "perks." Just like most don't know about the perks AARP members get. A lot of people, including yours truly, happen to believe that people shouldn't get discounts based on their affiliations, anyway.

Seeing how giddy some of the gun-grabbers are over this is amusing, but it's not an important issue. Not by a long shot.

I realize some on the right might meltdown. Guns seem to be just as important a cultural symbol (the donít tread on me types) rather than anything else. But most Americans probably arenít so enamored by their big guns and small brains.

So they are going to remove a fuel break that they give to every other airline because they don't like Delta removing the NRA discount.

The governor of NY offered to have Delta move their hub to NY.

Then why did you start a topic about it?

Seems like you care a lot.

No they aren't. Sounds like you give opinion about millions who you don't even know, as fact.

Ditching the NRA isnít hurting Delta, United or any other companies
Wanna know something that will make you crazy?

The NRA is a tax exempt organization. Yeah. 501C3, which is for educational organizations.

But you ain't been made crazy yet:
This type of non-profit is forbidden from spending any "substantial portion" of their revenue on lobbying and absolutely may not endorse candidates.
OK. Now you're crazy.
And you can never un-know this.

Since the NRA is a liberal statist organization this is good news.

So these companies gained little or nothing by being political activist and divisive. We just lost liberty to corporations who want to influence what rights we have.
