Hey, VT doesn't even have gun laws--surprising, given what a liberal haven they are. And they're a permitless-carry state.

You can't have everything.

NPR had a story yesterday about a potential school shooting in VT that was stopped because a student came forward and reported her friend's threatening words. Apparently the governor had a change of heart knowing his state might have been the site of the next mass shooting.

Yep, the arrest of that kid on the heels of what happened in Florida changed the mindset. People realized it could happen here too and so the crazies will be addressed

First, Vermont is not "the People's Republic" no matter how you try to smear it. Vermont is a beautiful, rural state with good people. Vermonters are pretty sensible so if they are heading toward some more gun restrictions after what just happened in Florida, more power to them!

(and who has even HEARD of your extremist publication.)

Taken directly from the linked article:

"The Vermont Senate on Wednesday unanimously approved a proposal to allow police to confiscate firearms and explosives from citizens with a judge’s order."

A judge's order, may not have gone though the full judicial process, but it looks closer to getting a warrant for a search, which has to go before a judge in the first place. That is due process.

Except that a search warrant has nothing to do with a seizure before due process.

And which, BTW, is no different from Trump's suggestion that cops confiscate guns of "suspected" nuts, then go to court later.

I am by no means in favor of that either, but at least like a search warrant, it has to go before a Judge before the police can implement any kind of seizure. but I agree, Iitshould go through the full hearing first before any kind of seizures.

THey have decided to actually address the problem of Mental Health as it relates to guns. What's the problem?

BTW - it is obvious you have never been to Vermont. Some of the most rational people in the world across the board and one of the most eminently livable places I have ever been. If they took this action unanimously, you can bet there are plenty more folks up that way who agree completely.

Is Vermont a State with a right to own and bear arms clause in the constitution?
