1. Passed health care reform

2. Passed the stimulus

3. Eliminated Osama bin Laden

4. Reversed the Bush torture policies

5. Helped the US auto industry

6. Increased veteran support

7. Improved food safety

8. Expanded environmental protections

And at least 40 other major accomplishments.

https://washingtonmonthly.com/magazi...complishments/
I'd like to respond to a few of these:
Quote:
1. Passed health care reform
A total disaster, and forcing IRS to collect penalties on people who didn't buy what they couldn't afford. Totally un-American, and a disgusting abuse of power. And speaking of using the IRS against the American people, how about weaponizing it against conservative groups in one of the biggest scandals in American History?

Quote:
2. Passed the stimulus
Wait, what? Didn't you just criticize Trump for spending? That "stimulus" gave millions to Obama's friends in "green energy" (Solyndra) who then filed for bankruptcy. And, remember "Cash for Clunkers?" Resulted in driving up the price of used cars, which were then scarce, and destroyed thousands of perfectly good cars. Yeah ...great program.

Quote:
3. Eliminated Osama bin Laden
Big deal. While he allowed ISIS ("the JV team") to expand and grow out of control, and he tied the hands of our fighting forces with unreasonable "rules of engagement" that cost life and limb (literally).

Quote:
5. Helped the US auto industry
And, speaking of the "stimulus," he "saved the auto industry" by screwing the stockholders of GM out of millions of their money, to give it to union workers first (taxpayer money), which was in violation of law. Obama

And GM still moved much of it's production to Mexico (four major manufacturing complexes in Mexico). He didn't "save" anything; the American taxpayers did, and they will never get their money back.

Quote:
6. Increased veteran support
How? With veterans waiting many months for needed treatment, and many dying while waiting? What kind of "veteran support" is that?

Quote:
8. Expanded environmental protections
Putting coal miners out of business, driving up the cost of electricity for millions of Americans, and also driving up gasoline prices because of unreasonable restrictions on drilling and exploration. Housing prices in places like California skyrocket because builders can't get permits, environmental reasons, and high cost of environmental studies which take years. Then he threw ranchers off "Federal land" (the Constitution never allowed for the Federal government to take land from the States). These so-called "environmental protections" have cost the taxpayers billions.

These are not "accomplishments."

Yes, all of this havoc occurring due to one guy.

What I have felt is that this has been the way to karmically bring this guy down, by having him in a position to be totally exposed for the complete fraud, con-artist and criminal he has been, having always escaped consequences.. until now.

Yet when his own party doesn't want to work with him he wanders to those on the left like a stray dog looking for a bone. He is and always has been his worst enemy since taking office. He won't even take the blame for the house shutting down when he said on TV that it's the presidents fault if the house gets shut down.

I guess he meant any other president other then himself.

But hey- the GOP got what the GOP wanted. It's their circus, their monkeys.
Many don't realize or accept it, but yes, if HRC and Tim Kaine would have been in, we would have already seen some progress made - no chaos, time-wasting, blaming and tweeting, but work getting done within a functioning and united White House, maintaining a staff of maturity and stability.

The focus would not be as it has been, with the everyday reporting of upsets and dwelling upon negative occurrences, but on things positively being accomplished with a more relaxed tone for the country, knowing that it was being run by those with experience, knowledge, intelligence, care and compassion, as it has been in the past and should be.

Tsk, tsk.

He has control of both the House and Senate. He should be able to get any bill he wants passed without a single Democratic vote.

His failure is on him.

Agreed! Yet he'll look straight at the camera and with such indignation and lie and blame the left for his failure. And those who voted for him fall for it every time.

But Trumpeters only see the short term. "Yippee! I get $2000 more money next year due to Trump's tax cut!" Guess what folks? Money still doesn't grow on trees, even with the Republican majority in all branches. We will have to pay for this, whether it's next year or ten years from now.

OTOH, thanks to our government's tripartite system, Trump's power is limited. That's a blessing considering his impulsivity and his habit of constantly changing his mind. I wish Congress would limit all these weekend trips to Mar-a-Lago, though.
