And while many conservatives are "dying off," you have plenty of conservatives who migrate to critically important states like FL, NC, etc. each year when they retire. If Dems are banking on this news to save them, they are in for a big disappointment.
While older conservatives have been moving to Florida for years, NC is well and truly a purple state. The amount of migration from the North East due to jobs in the Triangle and Charlotte and lower COL, is helping the state to become more liberal, than conservative.

The trends shows a decline in rural living and an increase in city living. City dwellers lean to the Democratic vote, rural dwellers tend towards a Republican vote. Conservative policies are just not popular any longer with the upcoming Millennial / Gen Z'ers.

Guns are hated by a good portion of America, the gun haters vote Dem with the hopes of gun confiscation.

Legalizing dope is a cornerstone of Dem politics, the dope heads vote Dem with the hopes of getting high 24/7 with easy and cheap access to dope.

Pro choice lovers vote Dem.

Atheists overwhelmingly vote Dem. The decline of traditional church goers (religiosity) in America is dramatic.

Homosexuals, Lesbians and Transsexuals overwhelmingly vote Dem.

Outcasts, Artist's & Bohemians vote Dem.

The white vote is shrinking and will be the minority vote in the USA soon. Whites were a big chunk of the 'hopeful' votes for the Reps.

Mexicans overwhelmingly vote Dem.

Do Illegals vote? If they do...they will vote Dem.

Blacks overwhelmingly vote Dem.

Asians overwhelmingly vote Dem.

Immigrants overwhelmingly vote Dem.

Women are on the move as never before, women's hope is to control the vote in the USA. Women vote

Dem in much larger numbers than women vote Rep. Most women are gun haters, about 12% of the women own guns. Their dream is to disarm America.

Healthcare is something neither party can do effectively in the USA...but which party at least tried to offer a toothpick of useless healthcare...the Dems. Anyone that has 'dreams' of affordable healthcare has to vote Dem. (But dreams are all they will ever get whether it is Dem or Rep.

Living expenses are skyrocketing in America. The minimum wage workers in the US are only 3% to 4%, but the Reps have shown little interest in raising the min wage and some Reps are even for abolishing it. With hopes of making enough money to live in a closet and be able to buy a few cans of dog food, where will the min wage worker lean? Many elections are lost just by a few % of the votes, it could be the minimum wage vote that accounts for the tipping point for a Dem success.

As the robots, illegals and new immigrants take the jobs, the middle class will keep shrinking. The Reps have no record of looking out for the middle class, the Reps are the party of big business. The Dems have a history of entitlement handouts and throwing crumbs to the poor. As the middle class turns into the newly minted poor, they will look towards the Dems for handouts to just try and survive.

When the Dems take control they will call in all guns to make us more like the UK and Australia. That will result in a civil war from the conservatives to keep their guns and freedom. The gov will probably win the battle resulting in more conservatives removed from the vote due to their death in battle. So the future looks very dim for the conservatives once the era of Trump is over.

The one thing I agree with you on is the fact that we are headed for civil war. If you are right that the future is of millenials voting in socialism and removing our freedoms then civil war is inevitable. I would gladly stand up and fight to protect my rights from that sort of thing. I am also ready to accept that this nation may need to be separated, allowing us to pursue our states rights traditional values based America and y’all can have your socialist utopia. When I think of the leftist enemy I no longer think of them as countrymen, rather I see them as no different from a citizen of the Soviet Union or China, places where people are fine with having few freedoms and a lot of dependence on government. That is not the American way and I would rather watch this nation burn than see those things come to be here. If we cannot win at the ballot box as you say it is because of the mass cultural rot, hedonistic degenerates, atheists and hand out seeking socialist that have overrun whole regions of this nation. Once conservative red state folks understand the deck is stacked against them and it’s eithet separation or submission then we may act. Whether or not full civil war erupts would be dependent upon whether or not the liberal government attempts to stop us by force like they did last time. One thing the lefties should remember....this is NOT 1865, we hold far more cards this time around and odds are we would win. We have economic power, an armed citizenry, and a vast majority of servicemen are from red states. Also many military bases are down here along with all thier assets. If it come to war don’t count on a repeat of history, even then we almost whipped you with 1/3 of the population that the north had.

As we all pontificate on demographics- it should be noted that Trump was able to win white women. The question will be was that a trend, was it due to an unpopular opponent or did most a large swath of women call 'no mas' and sit it out.

This is the absolute truth. When the economy is good and everyone (at least most everyone) is content, then they concern themselves over statues and gender bathroom. When times are tough, people are more concern about the basics of life.

If you were to tell Americans back in the Depression era of 1930’s or WW2 era that their grandchildren and great grandchildren would be concerned over protecting illegals and giving criminals wearing hijabs compensation, they’d throw a fit.

Nonsense! A "friendly divorce" along the lines of the former Czechoslovakia would make a lot more sense. and since both sides of the dispute are convinced they have a better way, it's time to put our futures where our mouths are.

But if the Blue "Mentality"(?) is convinced it should rule the roost and hold the more-productive regions captive, there would be plenty of opportunities for resistance.

There’s also another group that grows conservative after the first generation and that is the Latinos.

If the democrats think they can count on this demographic group perpetually, they will be in for a surprise.

Same with middle and upper class blacks. Those that move up socioeconomically tend to get more conservative (loudmouth celebrities and athletes notwithstanding).
