This is what a ban looks like. I can go buy one today during a full on AW ban.

Rosa parks was a criminal, MLK was a criminal, the group that dumped English tea into the water, were also criminals at the time...of course we celebrate these people today for their 'criminal'actions.

The same thing will happen again, some 'criminals' today will eventually be recognized as heroes and patriots and be celebrated for it.

s President Donald Trump indicated support and the National Rifle Association, the biggest U.S. lobby for gun owners and manufacturers, said it would back the plan. The bipartisan measure, known as Fix-NICS, would penalize federal agencies that fail to report relevant criminal records that would bar someone from purchasing a firearm to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

The NRA (like'em or hate'em) does support background checks

Wow..now that's dang ingenuous!

That is nothing close to backing a Universal Background Check. That's merely taking the existing system, loopholes and all, and tying a bow around it!

Universal Background Check--everyone who transfers a title on a firearm..does paper...both the seller and the buyer. Private or dealer. Databases kept of unique lands and grooves.

Effectively 100% firearms registration.

Now tell me that the NRA supports that!~!

Pre-crime never works.
Abolishing liberty to 'prevent crime' is evidence of an incompetent government seeking to show it is
"doing something."
No government can protect everyone. The best you can hope for is prosecution after the fact.
Otherwise you wind up with a totally regimented police state, demanding that law abiding people jump through hoops that the criminals bypass. And no real benefit for the helpless victim.

Well, guess not.

It appeared Florida's upper chamber had approved a ban on AR-15-style rifles Saturday, but a later roll call vote clarified that it did not have the votes to pass. After it appeared the two-year moratorium on the sale, delivery and transfer of AR-15-style rifles had passed by a voice vote, minutes later, that motion was reconsidered, and ultimately reversed by a roll call vote, with 17 votes in favor of the amendment and 21 against it.

For the record,
REMEMBER THE 1994 ASSAULT WEAPON BAN?
• Norinco, Mitchell, and Poly Technologies Avtomat Kalashnikovs (AKs) (all models)
• Action Arms Israeli Military Industries UZI and Galil
• Beretta AR-70 (SC-70)
• Colt AR-15
• Fabrique National FN/FAL, FN-LAR, FNC
• SWD (MAC type) M-10, M-11, M11/9, M12
• Steyr AUG
• INTRATEC TEC-9, TEC-DC9, TEC-22
• Revolving cylinder shotguns such as (or similar to) the Street Sweeper and Striker 12
[The prohibitions expired on September 13, 2004.]

Of course, prior to the ban, how many mass shootings were attributed to any of the above "assault weapons"?
[crickets chirping]

Just keep on demanding that incompetent government "DO SOMETHING" and you will get your wish.

No that bill is seeking to get states to report prohibited persons to the NICS database. It's not a ban on private sales which is outside of federal jurisdiction.
