this is from huffpo back in 2011
foreign influence on U.S. elections is hardly new, of course. The issue made headlines in 1997, when allegations emerged that the Chinese government had tried to funnel money to the Democratic National Committee during the 1996 election. In the 2008 race, Republican nominee John McCain’s top foreign policy adviser was found to have lobbied McCain’s own staff on behalf of the Republic of Georgia even while he was advising the campaign. In 2010, liberal groups accused the U.S. Chamber of Commerce of spending both domestic and foreign money in a $33-million anti-Democratic ad-buying spree.

Hillary Clinton campaign totals 13 fundraisers in foreign countries
https://sunlightfoundation.com/2016/...ign-countries/

the Koch brothers are AMERICAN....George Soros is a FOREIGNER
soros contributed over 20 million in the 2016 election
Those are good points actually. Foreign contributions into elections is sleazy business on both sides of the aisle...i.e. Everybody does it. But that does not change the Law which states that any contribution by a foreign national to the campaign of an American candidate for any election, state or national, is illegal. Likewise, anyone who receives, solicits, or accepts these contributions also is illegal. In the FEC’s forty-year history, it has recommended only 22 cases to the Department of Justice. And the big punishment if you get caught is that you have to pay a fine...oooh. In this case you have an investigation into an unprecedented attack on a US Election both in scope and scale by Russia. Period. Now this Law takes on a much more significant meaning in the context of potentially receiving contributions from a foreign adversary that attacked this country's election. The really big deal here is that U. S Authorities i.e. Mueller has a cooperating witness to what actually happened. And given that Nader was issued search warrants and a subpoena to the Grand Jury before he became "cooperating" is not a real good sign for the Trump team.

I agree. Mueller is a consummate pro: Experienced, dignified, thorough. If Trump had any sense, apart from any nervousness about what might be uncovered, he should be nervous about Mueller himself. Mueller has been described as incorruptible - a concept that is probably foreign to Trump.

Pretty soon he'll have spies looking in Donald Trump's refrigerator to see if he has any Russian salad dressing and it will be the leading story on CNN.
You don't know what Mueller has or doesn't just like the rest of us.

Man, this is one of the stranger angles in this whole thing but this looks really bad for the Trump team and it just keeps coming.

Mueller gathers evidence that 2017 Seychelles meeting was effort to establish back channel to Kremlin
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world...=.7c4633aacc26

A witness cooperating with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III has told investigators the meeting was set up in advance so that a representative of the Trump transition could meet with an emissary from Moscow to discuss future relations between the two countries, according to people familiar with the matter.
Hmmm that's not what Erik Prince told Congress...why lie about this???

Quote:
Last year, Prince told lawmakers — and the news media — that his Seychelles meeting with Kirill Dmitriev, the head of a Russian government-controlled wealth fund, was an unplanned, unimportant encounter that came about by chance because he happened to be at a luxury hotel in the Indian Ocean island nation with officials from the United Arab Emirates.

Mueller's been so busy indicting small fish that he's just now getting around to Trump and the Russians again. Don't hold your breath hoping he's going to forget about it and wander off. Gates obviously blew the whistle on Nunberg, and Nader is going to finger Flynn, Kushner, and Bannon. Kushner is going to be found to have been in cahoots with Trump for the Trump Tower meeting, and the whole house of cards is going to fall all at once, complete with coordinating state charges that can't be pardoned away.

If you want to make a few bucks, open a Nytol stand in front of the White House. My guess is you won't be able to keep stock on the shelves.

Mueller is being very thorough... and he may very well take trump down...but it is looking more and more like he may also take Hillary, lynch, pedosa , and even Obama down too
Only if he finds links to them and criminal activity. What he's looking for is evidence that Kushner, Flynn, and Bannon were trying to communicate with Russia on the downlow. Nader can put all of the players in their positions.

...the Mueller investigation is dealing with the Trump – Russia probe “as if taking on an organized crime family.” Any fan of The Sopranos, or who has any knowledge of law enforcement procedures, will recognize Mueller’s approach. When dealing with crime families there are some “golden rules” that investigators follow as they strive for the evidence to take down the “Godfather.”

I realize you must really believe these things you are writing, but I have to wonder why.

Your sources are hoaxing you.

I hope all the guilty parties pay dearly, no matter who they are. The right-wingers on this board seem to think those on the left are only eyeing Trump. I don't think that's true, but I expect the right wingers only want to see Democrats go down
