Following new jobs coming to Tennessee due to LG announcing a new Washing Machine plant in Tenn, now USA AL manufacture announces 300 new jobs coming to Kentucky. Average salary is $90K
So, on the one hand, a mainly idle aluminum plant in Kentucky will add 300 new jobs (very good).
However, the Kentucky bourbon industry has 15,000 to 17,000 employers in the state, with some worried that if the EU imposes a tariff on bourbon, it will hurt that industry:
I'm skeptical of the guy's claim. I watched the whole video, and the man claimed smelters in Kentucky earn $90K in salary and benefits. Considering the average Kentucky smelter earns only $42K per year, it would be well nigh impossible for the employee to earn an additional $50K in benefits to go with this modest salary. Meanwhile, LG is raising prices on these washers as a direct result of these tariffs, so even if this factory is built, the costs will be passed onto us, and we are less likely to buy American Thanks, President Clueless!
What the OP does not understand is that there are more users/consumers of steel and aluminum than there are consumers. Boeing alone employs about as many as the entire American steel industry. Then you have the auto industry, machinery, other transportation, appliances, etc. Celebrating the re-opening of a steel or aluminum mill here and there is celebrating the needs of the few against the needs of the many. Good luck with that one.

What is the old saying? Unable to see the forest due to the trees?
I guess that if Mr. Trump had "Trump Bourbon" he would be more concerned.
I'm calling BS on the bourbon thing. It will still sell regardless of the prices. I see people on a daily basis over paying 3 or 4 times what they should for a bottle. If people want it, they will pay.
