I suggested to my son that when he's taking the easy A, elective type courses to just go with the flow no matter how nutty or unhinged the professor appears and to focus on the important courses, e.g. math, science, business, etc.
He's told us a few entertaining SJW stories.
One of my professors was obsessed with product liability to the point where he blamed milk companies for people being allergic to milk and frequently used that as an example of harmful products on the market that needed to be addressed. And if you expressed a belief differing from his then he would seriously slash your grade. I ended up just rewording his beliefs slightly in all of my papers and started getting A's. No more trying to explain that people develop allergies through no fault of food manufacturers. I did conclude that he probably had a milk allergy.
How about when the discussion was started after the video, the professor said that only females could speak first. The suspended student said that he waited but no female student spoke. I think the fact that men and women were not given equal rights in the discussion shows this professor's agenda. And interesting that she doesn't like him insisting that there are only two genders, but she separates her classroom into female and not-female. If in her view gender isn't binary, maybe he wasn't 100% male and should have been allowed to speak?

Sometimes in a classroom it isn't about 'equal' opportunity but creating a discussion. The teacher might have been trying to direct the discussion for a reason.
Note, we are being subjected to an article from the perception of the student not the teacher...so we are getting a biased version of the story.
We don't know the truth -- we just don't.
The fact so many are ready to take what they read in the original article as fact without being able to discern the bias is very telling.

Oh yeah. It's amazing how students misinterpret commentary in the classroom. Happens all the time.
And so many on the left insult US when we tell stories out how DUMB many teachers are.
