Apparently most people want a "wall" and a stop to the baiting Obama did to attract illegal aliens across the border.

We wouldn't need a barrier if there was such a thing as a Mexican government.

Let us not ask why millions are fleeing mexico.

If people left the US by the millions, trump and the democrats would be excoriating him. The UN would be investigating. Intentionally the media turns a blind eye to the Mexican crisis and the government that made it all possible.

Illegal immigration decreased during the term of Obama. And particularly the Mexican contingent decreased significantly. You will have to find a new myth.

“Build That Wall mr. Potus”.
We go nuts? Not hardly. That's all it is; talking about a wall. And that's all it will ever be. Not even Trump's supporters believe this wall will be built.

A Trump appointee's opinion and a local opinion story from San Diego, which is a tiny stretch of a huge length of proposed wall.

Nice. Factual? Who knows? Not worth $40 billion to find out.

Shouldn't the Mexicans be invited to examine wall prototypes? Otherwise they may back out paying for it by claiming it an inferior product.

Do you have a source for that assertion? Anything at all to back it up?

I think you are wrong.

I just can't see that many bleeding heart liberals running construction companies or being farmers, and they are large employers of illegal aliens.

But, please go ahead and post your source.

"The Wall" is nothing but a dog whistle to the racists and xenpophobes in his base. Ain't gonna happen in the lifetimes of most of the members on this board today.

How do you know what Trump has or hasn't done or even if it effects any land owners? Congress already approved of this wall back in 2006. If any property owners don't want it then let them deal with the illegal aliens and drug runners on their property all by themselves then. It would serve them right!

So, I see you are pulling your usual race card and hurling insults again. What's racist or xenophobic about not wanting illegal aliens violating our borders while we embrace legal immigration? You won't answer that, though will you? You disgust me as usual.

“Build That Wall mr. Potus”.

Built it. The wall will become a symbol of right-wing stupidity. So the next time they champion another stupid idea, the rest of can just say, "Remember that wall that cost a lot of money and does nothing? Yeah, so this is another wall idea, right?"

But on second thought; Supply side, trickle down economic, Iraq, WMD, deregulation, and Mission Accomplished were all supposed to be symbols of right-wing stupidity and here we are.

Maybe Trump can take the economy with tariffs and the price controls that will follow, in an effort to hold jobs that will be lost from his failed market planning.

The economy drives immigration, legal or otherwise. When it dries up, they stop coming. That was a big part of the decrease particularly in Obama's first term. It wasn't even because of things Obama was doing, or not doing for that matter. He just happened to be president during a recession.

Did you read both links? The point is that those good walls have been very effective in deterring illegal aliens. The wall is estimated to cost $25 billion not $40 billion and illegal aliens cost us over $100 billion a year...do the math!

I'd rather see the money put into a buyback of AR-15s to protect innocent citizens as they go about their daily routines. But that would cut off the NRA campaign contributions.

With the same money we could also get every homeless person in America off the streets, and accomplish something worthwhile. We could also get started rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure.

Lots of good ways to spend the money without having to look for a bad one.
