I live in an expensive city and I am infuriated whenever I'm looking for a place to move and see that new, luxury apartments have special low rates for "low-income" people. In my city if you make $49,999.99/year then you are "low-income" and you can live in luxury 1-bdrm apartments for $1,300/month while someone who makes $50,000.00+ has to pay $2,000/month for the same unit. It's completely absurd on principle (government forcing equal outcomes for unequal productive capacity), but also on practice because it pushes up housing prices.

Same goes for subsidized medical care, Obama phones, etc.

Stop the subsidies! You deserve only what you can afford from the value of your labor! Or else move to Venezuela, North Korea, Cuba, etc.

How are people who cannot afford medical care, phones, etc. supposed to afford to move to a foreign country?

The government spend 59 billions on social welfare and 92 billions on corporate subsidies. It is corporations that WANT to move to those countries, they pressure the government for regime change in those countries. Why? So banks can give huge loans to be used for corporate subsidies on the back off those already impoverished people.

You should pay more because you attempt to label what in actuality are Reagan Phones as "Obama phones".

Why don't you feign outrage over government subsidizing corporations too?

And I am sick and tired of the government subsidizing "high-income" people.

Heh you make it sound like uncle sugar has his own money to throw around. Reality is he steals it from us and gives it to his friends, some of whom are already rich and some who are poor, but all will surely be indebted enough to keep voting his hand back into our pockets. None of these shenanigans should be confused with actual charity which is always voluntary.

As a conservative I dislike too much government meddling and hate how welfare subsidize low class women to be single and have kids. On the other hand I look back to before the 1930s and how it was and can't really say no social safety nets or programs was a good outcome for most Americans.
