Alaska is #1 and very easy to get guns there. If just outright gun related deaths including suicides, it tends to be the less restricted states.
Top 20 are Utah, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Nevada, Idaho, Arizona, West Virginia, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Montana, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alaska. None of those are really restrictive states.
Yep, red states have more gun deaths than blue states. How about that!!
Well then, if someone wants to kill himself, lets make it as easy as possible. But that aside...
Personally, I won't be happy until we stop most of these unnecessary deaths. But you hang onto your gun as long as you can and as long as it soothes you.
Our guns aren't going away as long as the U.S. still has the Constitution. If that goes away, then you might get your wish, but then you might be in a Gulag too.

Sure, if you include suicides. It just happens they chose to use a gun. Would you feel better if they had used drugs, or a bridge? Because, you know, it's all about your feelings.

Alaska, may have more suicides, per capita, because of it's remoteness, it can be a lonely place to live. I loved it; but then we were a young family and it was quite an adventure.
... I don't find it very honest to try to confuse the serious issue of gun violence with gun deaths inflated by suicides...
That's your call. But to imply intent is a fallacy on your part. This question has not been hemmed and hawed or diced, analyzed and selected for effect. It is a straight forward simple question. Those who answer may add (as you can see they do) their own biases and thoughts as to what it means.
If you don't like my question as it is, fine, that's your choice, but to call it dishonest (or as you said - "not very honest") is IMO - dishonest.
The US is number one in murders. At least we are the best of something, though nothing to be proud of. We also rank 37th in healthcare with a third world country ranking higher.
So just pass the ammunition we just need to kill us somethin'.

I would prefer they were able to get the mental help they needed.

There are over 90 countries with a higher homicide rate that the US, and a half dozen or more with higher raw numbers.

I don't know where you get your stats from, but the United States is not the number one in murders, in fact it doesn't even make the top 50, nor the top 75, the U.S. comes in at 92nd on the list. Our neighbor to the north comes in at 89th.
Almost two thirds are suicides (11,726 of 33,599)?
So if a guy finds out he has a terminal disease and doesn't feel like sticking around for all the fun, he has to find a building to jump off or the anti-gun nuts won't be happy?
Is this what you meant to say? I don't think 11 of 33 is two thirds.
