A cluster of cells with no cognitive ability and no feeling is hardly the same as a viable child. Even SCOTUS agrees with that. Give it up.

OK. Lets bring some different issues into this.

Nickolas Cruz, the Parkland gunman, had swastikas carved into his gun, expressed hatred for Jews and Blacks, and wore a MAGA hat.

Instead of eliminating any type of gun, we should eliminate anyone who agrees with any of his radical doctrines. Who has ideas for accompliashing this...?

Both the democratic and Republican parties have changed over time. As the youth of today grow up, they will change the parties again. Just look at gay marriage. No way would that have become legal decades ago but as it became understood and acceptable, the laws changed for the better. This generation is the first generation that grew up with active shooter drills and hiding in place and it's going to stick with them. They will grow and vote and have kids. those kids will grow and vote and have kids and i don't doubt that decades from now, we will have meaningful gun and mental health laws. it's a shame that our democracy works this slow though. the old people in power now will be dead and gone by then and the people now who will then be old will complain about how the country is going down the drain just like the old people do today.

1) "Save America"? Is it so bad that it needs saving?
2) Whatever they do legally will do little to stop school shootings in my opinion.

Yep, the SAME Women's March whose co-chair, Tamika Mallory, is a friend and associate of racist Louis Farrakhan.

The kids have been astroturfed with propaganda, MUCH of it factually incorrect, and have stupidly aligned themselves with "kill whitey" racism and anti-Semitism.

I wouldn't exactly call that "smart."

What's even WORSE is all the preening Dem politicians who've now aligned themselves with that exact same "kill whitey" racism and anti-Semitism by preening at several of the events. THEY should know better and investigate who they're aligning themselves with before dashing for the next photo-op or video-op. Complete idiots! /SMH

Relying on information on some government database is clearly a failed approach. Something else needs to be done, like requiring people to get a licence and in process of doing that, get a mental evaluation. Also, if those 40 calls should show up in the background checked, then ALL calls from ALL police precincts need to be sent to the database, and everyone names involved need to be included.

If a man and wife have a loud argument and a fed up neighbor calls the cops, should that disqualify the man and wife from purchasing firearms? If you watch a movie in a condo and the sound is too loud, and a stuck-up neighbor calls the cops? Disqualified? One of your guests at a party drinks too much and pukes on the drive way, and neighbor calls cops. Are you disqualified?
The mental evaluation will never fly........ too subjective. Licenses are possible, as long as the cost is not determined to be financially restrictive on low income citizens (think voter I.D.)

Basically, whatever restrictions you want to apply to gun rights should be applied to all other constitutionally protected rights. That should be the litmus test.

I proposed a solution. Your solution is?

Although you and I are diametrically opposed on this issue, you are better than this. I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt on this one and believe you are being facetious.

Deliberately injuring/killing a neighbor's animals is. There were other crimes, as well. All covered up by Broward public schools and local law enforcement. Promise Program. Clean criminal record = Cruz passes a background check.

Florida shooting suspect had a history of explosive anger, depression, killing animals - Chicago Tribune

I'd like to see these kids turn their attention to the opiod crisis. Everyday in America there are more than 17 people that die from over doses. Why don't they care about these people? Why do they think they should attack the NRA, GOP, Trump and guns when they turn their backs on the real killer in America?

I can't help but think these kids are being used as pawns by the Left to push for gun control/ bans when the real problem is mental health. Has any of the protesters called out the FBI that dropped the ball on this?
