OP wouldn't be able to claim that he was denied this job because he was white. His 'proof' of the two different resumes wouldn't stand up in court because he changed to many variables (name, educational level, gender status, etc.). The school can claim that he was over qualified for this position, didn't have the experience that they were looking for, etc. If he was looking for proof of discrimination, he should have only changed the name and left the other variables the same.

That's not how this works. Society nor government must not attempt to correct historically created inequality by applying equal and opposite discrimination. That's a recipe for disaster at best, civil war at worst.
First off, all punitive or corrective actions are reaction to things that happened in the past.

Secondly, Society should not try to do this EVEN when it would be to the overall benefit to society? Forget about the math and logic of equal and opposite forces. If blacks and white were on par economically (via blacks reaching white levels), how many billions would that save tax payers in welfare payments? How many extra billions would be added to GDP as a result of increased black employment/earnings/spending? What about the reduction of poverty related crimes? In other words, why does not society see such an effort as a means of improving the nation overall?

Finally, I will answer my second point. Society does not do it because it has not fully evolved out of being a racist nation and hence the demographic majority does not WANT to see it happen, notwithstanding the ways the nation would benefit overall from such a policy. The return on investment would make it worth it. However, the kicker is that so many white Americans believe that blacks are innately inferior that they therefore believe than no amount of effort could ever result in blacks reaching parity with whites.
