The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has primary investigative responsibility for perjury violations in all cases and matters involving departments and agencies of the United States, except those arising out of a substantive matter being investigated by the United States Secret Service; Internal Revenue Service; Immigration and Naturalization Service; United States Customs Service; Drug Enforcement Administration; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; or United States Postal Inspection Service. The FBI also investigates violations relating to cases and matters not involving the United States government, or its agencies or departments, such as a civil case in a United States District Court between private parties. Upon written request of the Department, the FBI also investigates perjury violations committed in connection with any inquiry or investigation being conducted by the United States House of Representatives or the United States Senate, or their components.

Trump is a very small and petty man. That's just who he is, and he will never change. He will never be wise, fair and presidential. Ever.
I think many voters will remember this at the polls. The firing could have still gone ahead with an effective date 2 weeks from now which would enabled him to retire with pension in 2 days.
Firing effective immediately was mean spirited.
Again we are not clear what the firing was about, other than the fact that the FBI holds itself to the highest standards.
Instead of treating the firing as evidence that the FBI commands this respect, the GOP base will treat it as evidence that the FBI should have none.
Funny how the liberals are now crying foul for firing FBI folks they claim were trying to help Trump when Hillary was investigated for hiding a personal email server.
Former CIA chief John Brennan did not mince his words when taking aim at President Donald Trump on Saturday morning.
In a blistering tweet, Brennan blasted Trump for celebrating the dismissal of former FBI deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
Trump would take his “rightful place as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history” once “the full extent” of his “venality, moral turpitude, and political corruption becomes known,” Brennan wrote.
He lied under oath, several times according to OPR. Look what happened to Flynn for lying. Why is an FBI director above the law?
Sessions took recommendation and made he call.
Loonies are moaning about McCabe not having a million dollar pension but Flynn lost his house and is on the verge of bankruptcy. Comey and Peter Strzok said they didn't believe Flynn lied in the first place but Flynn couldn't afford further interrogations with lawyers present so caved. Sounds like he will be cleared at some point. I hope his friends chip in and have a fundraiser so he can get his house back. Very unfair when there are separate laws for the political ruling class and us.
When the IG report comes out with even more damning information about not just McCabe but many others, if Sessions had done nothing he'd have been accused of collusion to keep them in power. He really had no choice. The fact that the OPR seems to protect their own goes to show there must be some really bad sh1te about to hit the fan. Duck!
Former FBI director James Comey clapped back at President Trump Saturday in a fiery tweet that said the American people can judge for themselves who is honorable in government.
Mr. President, the American people will hear my story very soon. And they can judge for themselves who is honorable and who is not.
So Trump has the guy fired just 2 days, that's right 2 days, before he was to be able to have his pension. If that isn't vindictive politics, I don't know what is.
