I suspect that the antipathy felt toward the NRA is due to the fact that you are personally opposed to what they are working for. If you replaced NRA with Planned Parenthood, or the AFL-CIO, or some other politically active group, you would react very differently. The NRA is really no different from those groups in their political activities. If they are more powerful (and I see no evidence that they are), it's only because they represent a larger group of like minded individuals than those other groups do.
I think you are directing your ire at the wrong person here, I oppose the way lobbying is currently done. Regarding the bolded....you are completely wrong, I am very consistent in my views.
Oh, by the way LIFETIME MEMBER NRA Read my post history.

It's not only the 6 million NRA members, it's the tens of millions of others who vote that are not too willing to relinquish their civil liberties to a political party that puts the interests of illegal invaders above the interests of American citizens. A political party who's goal is to turn the United States into a third world socialist aristocracy of which they have absolute power and control. Although they'll never admit to it, that's always been their goal, the only thing stopping them is the 2nd Amendment and Constitutional law.

I think you'll find that most of the people who wish to preserve the 2nd Amendment and Constitutional law are diametrically opposed to damn near everything that the Democrat Party stands for, including yours truly. The Democrats are nothing more than a bunch of lying hypocrites and self righteous demagogues.

Just look at the last person they nominated for president. Or our last president, friend of Farrakhan and disciple of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. They sure tried to cover all that up with every excuse imaginable.

Agree, which is why demonizing the NRA is sheer stupidity.

Because he had a gun on school grounds and had already shot two people. If you're a police officer, those are times you don't stop and ask questions.

So a good guy with a gun took down a bad guy with a gun, just like we said...right?

As I have made very clear in many previous points, I am definitely not a "gun nut", but I think this man, Deputy Blaine Gaskill, is a HERO.
And how many people have said you wouldn't find this story on CNN or any other "MSM" outlet? I'm glad this guy was there and not another Scott Peterson.

Like I said, a good guy with a gun and enough training to know how to use it. (Edited to add: a uniform, too)

The NRA serves as the bagman to keep any sort of legislation from being considered. We're still waiting to hear whether they bought their GOP congresspeople with Russian money, which would be the end of them.

It really stinks that a few mentally disturbed people give guns a bad reputation. We don't need any restrictions on possession or usage of guns.

That all sounds familiar, right?

Ok, now swap gun with marijuana.

For the record, I don't partake in either of the things mentioned above. I just do find it fascinating that advocates of one can completely ignore the comparison of the other.
Marijuna has never killed anyone though except maybe if a big enough bale fell on someone.
