The irony of this thread is all the people missing the Obamas as the epitome of a close and loving marriage/family would have gladly put back into the WH arguably the most dysfunctional marriage to ever occupy that home.

We do volunteer work at lunch time a couple days a week in one of our local elementary schools. Many of the kids are on the federal lunch program and what they get to eat is sad, almost as sad as the food they waste. I can guarantee people Michelle's lunch program is a huge flop.
I've seen pictures of lunches served at some schools (like the ones who have it shipped in), and I can believe what you are saying. At our school, the kids on free/reduced get the same lunch as the kids who pay for it, and we strive to make it the best we can (we still do all preparation on premises). But it's gotten hard! For example, who wants to eat tomato soup made with WATER! We used to be able to make it with milk. Cream of tomato soup with goldfish crackers. Then we had to give them saltines instead. Then they wouldn't let us serve saltines anymore...
