To answer you directly, yes, it will happen. It's just a matter of when. There will be a buyback like Australia had, and anyone who decides to keep them will incriminate themselves.

Blah, blah, blah...

This thread is worse than ComicCon as a feverish hotbed of fantasy.

I don't think we will see a ban, nor confiscation, realistically. There may be some feel good laws passed on the state level that do nothing but allow the politicians to say they did "something". If there were a ban on semi auto rifles, there would be a large amount of non compliance as what happened on registration in NY, and CT. They know that registration leads to confiscation.

Yes, those that do not comply will be Felons after the fact, as they bought the guns when they were legal. It will then be up to the government on if, or how to enforce the bans. My guess is that it will not be enforced, as that could open a huge can of worms. So we will have millions of Felons that have guns, but can't actually take them out of their homes, and use them at gun ranges. In effect that's what the government wants anyway.

And 100% probability the NRA will continue to monger the fear it will happen as they make themselves very comfortable livings by doing so.

As long as democrats don't have control of all 3 branches there is zero chance. If/when they get majorities again the odds go up to maybe 50/50. They've seen what happens when they support stricter gun control, outside of the rabid liberal coasts they lose votes - every time.

If pushed into a corner on it, I'd load up each of my ARs and drop them after dark with a dozen loaded magazines each in the worst possible part of town. I'll then scatter hundreds of loaded 30 rnd mags throughout those neighborhoods. Have fun, Dems!

Watch them crank up a big ground war someplace, start the draft back up and get rid of those kids....
