Because "putting lipstick on a pig" has a common meaning in the vernacular. And just to help you out here, because it seems you really do need a lot of help, it means trying to cover up the same old/same old and pretend it's something different.

Geesh, the things you have to explain to Trump supporters.

Great , we can agree on something. Prove Trump was making fun of the disabled and we can be on our way. Then I just might look into Obama and his racist, sexist comments calling white women pigs.

He was most definitely addressing their 'change' mantra/policy.......and said

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."

"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."

"We've had enough of the same old thing."

There is no way he was talking about Palin because she was not the same old thing at all. We had/have never had anything like her before or since.

Also -- just a side note -- McCain had used the lipstick on a pig reference with regards to Hillary Clinton's health care policy previous to Obama's use of the phrase and probably was more why it came up in Obama's reference.

But don't let that get in the way of a good story.

Hate to tell you -- that's a pretty weak approach.

Bad behaviour is not excused because others make bad behaviours or do thinks you don't like.

But thanks -- you merely highlighted how inappropriate Trump is too.
Context does not matter to you, m'kay.

Meanwhile, Trump stood in front of cameras and imitated a disabled reporter by flapping his arms around, ridiculing the man's disability.

There is no comparison.

But you already know that.
I highly doubt the posters does know that. "Lipstick on a pig" is an expression, nothing more. To claim he called all white woman a pig is just not accurate. But when has accuracy mattered around here when a good old Lib Bashing is in session?

With her bizarre antics and unhinged online statements, Roseanne Barr has set herself up perfectly for a mid-to-high-level political run as a Republican.

Actually, context seems to have eluded you. The context was the platform the GOP candidates were attempting to sell to the electorate.
