This episode was definitely a step down from the first two.
No political rants to draw in the Trump fans, and no humor to speak of.
I agree. It was boring and I lost interest half way through. I used to be a fan of the show but I doubt I'll go out of my way to tune in next week. Besides, Dan, Rosanne and Darlene I'm not warming up to the other characters. And I wonder if they keep with political themes if it isn't straying too far away from what made the original series so popular. If done right, political themes could be another Archie Bunker or Last Man Standing---both of which I loved---but so far I'm not seeing that happening. In 'Bunker' and 'Last Man' the counterpoint to the main character were not silly caricatures like over-acting Jackie is portrayed. Right and left where balanced.
It looks like some 15.4 million folks in week 2 wanted to watch.
Good-sized drop-off from the first week though.
'We now have the answer: Comparing 8-8:30 p.m. week to week, the “Roseanne” decline was -20 percent in the key 18-49 demographic and -16 percent in overall viewers. If you were to include last week’s 8:30-9 p.m. time slot as well, last night’s “Roseanne” drop-off grows to -25 percent in the demo and -18 percent overall."
You must have missed the memo. If there's even a whiff of Trump support or even the briefest appearance of someone who is a Trump supporter it MUST be loudly/soundly condemned.
If that doesn't work then it's time for the echo chamber to start the screaming for a boycott of the sponsors demanding the offending show be removed.
Wait and see, that'll come next...
Absolutely false.
I, and many other liberals, found the first two episodes funny and sweet.
The third one was just mean, loud and abrasive.
ProTip: You don't need to agree with every little thing anyone on this Earth says or does.
First two episodes were funny and clever. Stiff, but that would likely work out over time.
So watched the third one and wondered what the hell happened.
Where was the humor? What was funny about Roseanne shoving her granddaughter's head under the kitchen faucet?
I hope they get back on track. This group of actors has potential to help us put some hatefulness to rest. Humor has a way of doing that.
Yes!! I couldn't agree more!!
