Well we see the wingnuts running around all triggered.... funny thing is i thought it was the Left that got triggered over nothing???
I mean we all know it already, but it is a good example. Right wing claims those on the left are weak minded and easy to upset, now they are running around like their heads are on fire just because a sitcom is cancelled when the star makes overtly racist statement...
It always saddens me when people don't grasp exactly how important words are to our existence.
Yikes.
Healthy well-adjusted people tend to not be affected by words spoken neither to them or about them in a Tweet written by a well-known loudmouth actress. Saving ones' outrage for things that really matter is a virtue.
I'm not ok with it, I'm quite ambivalent toward it actually, and see it as an extremely petty issue. It's watching so many people get unhinged over it that really surprises me. Words. People coming unhinged over WORDS.
Yes, words matter. And it's not because it's words. It's what is behind the words that matters.

Oops! Guess its only okay when its a strongly worded opinion you agree with.

ABC has canceled "Roseanne" after Roseanne Barr's racially charged tweet about Valerie Jarrett Monday morning. "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show," ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey said in a statement to TheWrap on Tuesday. "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj," Barr said earlier on Tuesday in response to a Twitter thread about Jarrett, a former adviser to Barack Obama.

Words are one of the only ways we have to communicate, in a very specific manner, our ideas, thoughts, emotions, etc.
It's the words and what is being communicated by those words.
