I think there has been a loosening of the PC reins of late.
Trump flogs one bogus conspiracy theories after another. Half a dozen tweets this morning on his spy nonsense. Accused Obama of a felony. Insults people left and right. When he gets called on it, he takes a step back and claims he was misunderstood.
Roseanne was the top rated show of the season and had just been renewed for another season. Given that and the current climate of acceptance of "free speech," she probably thought she was good to go.
She'll land on her feet. She always does.
She's an abhorrent person and has never tried to appear as anything other. Like Trump, she recognized that there's a sizable chunk of deplorable people out there, who like to see one of their own kind being successful. From her pre show-business days doing repugnant things for money, to her crotch-grabbing and insulting singing of the National Anthem, she has delighted the low-life segment of our population.
Now that she had once again become the darling of The Trump-supporter type, she thought that she could overstep the bounds of decency, just like he does. But, apparently she forgot that ABC is one of those MSM organizations, that has little tolerance for offensive and racist statements, as she made. Good riddance, although I certainly would never have watched her show. Let's hope that Trump makes an even greater fool of himself, by praising her and damning ABC for giving her the boot.

this will be ancient history in 72 hrs. it's interesting that her comment was focused at one person due to a political thread - yet there is an uproar as if it were focused on an entire class of people. wonder why that is seeing as it is not something she is known to do normally.

What about Fonda? I not only watch her show, Grace and Frankie, I enjoy the show. She made a boneheaded comment decades ago and is a very vocal Trump-hater, yet I still watch her show.
I watched many of the episodes of Roseanne's show from 20 years ago, I enjoyed a number of the episodes but many were a little to off the wall for me, especially after the show had hit the midway point. The current show, I've only watched a small handful of the episodes. The episodes I had watched were okay but there was nothing outstanding about them...kind of ho hum really.
I've never met, and do not know, either actress. Because of that I have no idea how either actress is in real life. Both could be nice people or could be cranks, idk and I'm not gonna guess.
Convenient that you care about the national anthem occasionally.
It is convenient when people selectively care about the national anthem when it suits their purposes and overlook slights like Barr's antics when it suits their purposes.
Roseanne’s tweet is really sad and deplorable. I am an independent who currently leans pretty conservative, and it disturbs me to see a conservative act like this. I’ve never watched any of her shows or know much about her — did she just do it for attention, or is she really that racist and stupid?
