It was a joke anyway. A dig at her (undesirable) foreign parentage and "pedigree" being the worst of the absolute worst cultures that you could possibly mix.
Just....wow. Why is her "foreign parentage" undesirable? We are a nation of immigrants. What is wrong with her cultural background? Just so you know...her parents educational and career attainment probably put yours and those of 99 per cent of us native born Americans to shame. Which isn't unusual...immigrants and their children often outperform the majority of native born s...think of the founders Apple, Google, Tesla, SpaceX, Amazon, Intel, Reddit, Yahoo, eBay, and so on..you get the picture.
This country is also full of people of Middle Eastern heritage who have made or are making major contributions, if that is what you meant...you can start with Steve Jobs and Apple.
Just remember - the righties who want no consequences for Roseanna spouting off bigotry are the same people who support huge punishments for kneeling during the anthem. Their notion of "freedom of speech" is limited only to certain viewpoints, obviously.
It's doubly hilarious since Roseanne has been all over the place politically and has also behaved disrespectfully during the anthem (crotch-grabbing and spitting.) Yep...many of them wanted to ruin the careers of those players...no sensitivity whatsoever to the long history of treating African-American terribly in this country...and many would have gladly seen them deported or imprisoned. What was most amazing to me about many of them was how they blatantly ignored statements by the players and those around them that it was not an attack on soldiers or on the country but a declaration that all is not well in America...similar to the abolitionists displaying the flag upside down during the days of slavery.
They really don't support free speech unless it is along the lines of the sentiments expressed by Barr today.
I think she sank the ship. Any network that would pick it up would have to be edgy, and not care about her past, and it might turn the conservative viewership away simply because of the network.
Conversely, any network that would pick it up is tacitly saying they are alright with her bigoted attitude and beliefs.

One reason I was also enjoying the new reboot of Roseanne. It was a great poke at both sides, while still being topical, relevant and balanced.
