His SAT score puts him right at the bottom 25% of the University of Florida SAT score range. So he may well have a problem getting admitted there.
This is such a dumb discussion. I don't know why he is complaining in public about not getting accepted to colleges when he doesn't have competitive scores. I don't know why Laura Ingraham bothered to comment on it. Both are ridiculous.
California State Universities are hard to get into, especially if you are an out of state student (80% of slots are reserved for in state applicants)
Because teenagers put stuff like that on social media all the time. The put their whole life on social media. If they get fired from a job, they put it on social media, even when it's their fault for getting fired.
If they missed the school bus because they were late, they put in on social media. If they get a flat tire, they post it on social media, often with a photo. If their boyfriend/girlfriend breaks up with them it's posted on social media.
That's how they roll.
Not all teenagers. I have two teenagers, they have been raised better than that. And they both have much higher test scores too. Perhaps spending less time whining on social media allows kids to do better in school.
He was accepted to Cal Poly, Cal State San Marcos and Florida Atlantic University
Shame states would put International students above even their own in state residents.
Hogg had almost zero chance being an out of state white male.
Quote:
A very noticeable jump is the 13-fold increase in international students' applications, and their rate of acceptance has soared as well. In 1997, 2,019 international students applied to be freshmen at UC schools and 798 (39.5 percent) were accepted. In 2017, 27,193 applied and 18,067 (66.4 percent) were accepted.
Have we really descended so far that we need a 1000+ post sticky thread for people hurl insults at a 17 year old and have a gigantic meltdown because a 54 year old woman just discovered that there actually are limits to what she can say before facing negative consequences?
Apparently we do.
This kid has so many people feeling threatened that there are websites now dedicated solely to abusing him.
Lots of people with way too much time on their hands and way too much hate in their hearts.
I am starting to fear for his safety.
But, better to know that they are out there than to have them hidden in the shadows.
So let me get this straight. When the Trump inspired boycotts hurt the NFL or CNN's ratings, all of the right wingers said Rah-Rah yay team. But when Hogg's boycotts hurt Ingraham and Fox, it's "wahh, wahh, pity poor Laura."
Give me a break. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Fox got a taste of their own medicine. Karma is a beotch, ain't it?
Exactly.
They just hate it when their play-book is used against them.
Hogg has a 4.2 GPA, or something like that. How much better could he have done in school?
My oldest has a 4.64 and it will be higher next year when he is a senior. My sophomore has a 4.5. More than 50% of their class has above a 4.25. Stoneman Douglas is very similar to my kids' high school. We have friends who moved here from Parkland and their children went there before coming to our school. A 4.2 wouldn't put you in a the top 50% of our school's class. And a 1270 is below average at our high school.
This isn't hard. Check the average SAT/ACT scores and GPAs of each college and you can see where the scores will fall. It's easy for kids to see if they are competitive for each individual school.
He is VILE. Simply put. Disgusting. And the fact the powers-that-be are making him a freaking hero just shows how disgusting and vile this entire country has become - the youth of this nation are turning into a bunch of Saul Alinsky quacks.
Yeah, when the kids hear the President of the freaking United States refer to other countries as $hitholes, well, sets a good example, doesn't it?

Plenty of "adults" post minute details of their daily lives, too, and they have for years. They seem to need attention and validation for everything. Maybe that's why teens tend to do the same?
