The Republican National Committee launched an aggressive campaign to paint fired FBI Director James Comey as a liar, just days before the airing of his first interview since he was cut loose and shortly before the release next week of his tell-all memoir.
The RNC borrowed a term, coined by then-candidate Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential primaries for “Lyin’ Ted Cruz,” and pegged it to the embattled former chief of the FBI.

Anyone who is visiting a website called "lyincomey.com" is not interested in the truth in the first instance. This will almost exclusively attract people who have their minds made up before the book is released and are looking to have their biased opinions validated. This isn't expanding the RNC's base. I would guess it actually it turns off more moderate Republicans (like me). So much for the "law and order" party. A "rapid response" team to attack a former FBI head and a book that hasn't even been released yet? Pathetic.
This ladies and gentlemen is the current state of the GOP. Ronald Reagan just threw up in his coffin.
I had hoped that the election of the toddler-in-chief would shake up the party and put them back on track, but alas, instead it appears they are following Trump into preschool.
The RNC is circling the drain. Someone needs to press the handle and flush them down once and for all.
Clearly an indication that they are scared of the fallout - so damage control.
Ironic that the party leadership would take sides between two lifelong Republicans: One a career FBI administrator, the other a career con-man.
This won't work, the public is on to them. The best thing the RNC could do is plan for the post-Trump era, and try to rebuild. I suppose that is what Paul Ryan expects to do.
As for myself, I look forward to seeing what Mr Comey has to say. I am sure we will be discussing it here, so you guys should sharpen your knives and practice your lies and insults in anticipation.
Stuff like this only makes me want to buy Comey's book to see what the RNC and Trump are so afraid of.
I buy toilet paper because its softer.
