Refugees always pass several safe countries to get to the ones that will give the most benefits.
At that point, they are no longer refugees, but prospective immigrants and economic migrants, and should be denied entry.
In the next 100 years or so there will be a virtual never ending supply of "refugees" and "migrants" from the worst parts of the world so long as governments don't know how to function and the people don't know how (or don't want) to use birth control.

They flowed through Egypt to get to Israel and are thus not refugees. Israel built a higher and stronger fence with Egypt to stop the flow.
African countries have refused to accept them. If they did, they would be signaling that it's okay to start sending these unwanted refugees back to Africa. I think if Israel forcibly deports them they should have to make a cash payment for each forcible resettlement to the host countries.
Westernized countries are going to be drowning in refugees as the worlds poorest nations get poorer and their populations continue to increase. I'm in favor of limits on immigration in all countries. We have a lot of poor in America. We need to take care of our own first. I think this is an issue that got Trump elected and may get him reelected, and once again Democrats are standing around wondering why they keep losing elections.
