But then I realize that they are looking at just the financial aspects, and thought China would ignore it because it wasnt damaging enough, and that Trump would not go further. China choose to pay attention to it because they feel the need to flex their muscles, and they are PISSED about other things as well. Things like us exchanging diplomats with Taiwan.

I kept telling a friend of a friend on FB not to brag about the market breaking records under Trump..

and now we are witnessing Trump tank the market with a trade war. It's impressive

Trump is an idiot who got lucky..

but most people knew this guy wasn't that good at business.

He's great at branding himself but actual business? Not so good

Exactly.

There is a great documentary series on Netflix right now called Dirty Money. Check out episode 6 which is about Trump and his branding. I am sure some of you will dismiss Netflix as a liberal propaganda network but that doesn't change the truth of Trump.

Like when he bought the Plaza Hotel for what would be close to a billion dollars in today's money, could not make it profitable enough to pay down the debt he took out to buy it, and wound up with a 51 percent stake co-owning it with Citibank and his other creditors in exchange for debt forgiveness in one of his bankruptcy proceedings.

He knew exactly what he was doing, but he wanted that prestige. Prestige doesn't pay the bills.

Largely because of this, his daddy bought $3M in chips at his casino and left. Backdoor bailout.

Anyone who actually endeavored to follow Trump's path to "success" in business and doesn't have anyone in their family willing to pull it out of the gutter would fail miserably.

Also - when did we turn over market responsibility to Trump? Obama seemed to be getting credit as long as the marked increased under Trump?

And what did HE do when his acolytes were crowing about the Dow breaking 25,000?

Or is it only his doing when it goes up and a mystery to Trumpites when it goes down?

President Trump is absolutely the greatest on the economy. Dow breaks 25,000
I do agree with the post you linked. What I disagreed with was the fact that the state of the economy is linked roughly to the market. You aren't going to have a bear market with a bull economy. If the market continues to drop, I fully expect the economy to slow down and start backpedaling within a few quarters.

According to many Obama followers and liberals... they say it's Trump when it's tanking. They say it's Obama when it's not.

Sounds like Trump behaves on par with the Obama followers and liberals. LOL
You act like people on either side of the aisle behaving like simpletons is a good thing.

He probably shorted Amazon before his tweets.

Congress needs to take back the authority over trade tariffs it was given in Article 1-Section 8 of our Constitution
