Mr. Affluenza should have gotten at least 2.5 years for each person that he killed and each sentence would be consecutive.

And he only got jailed for violating his probation, not because of the people he murdered.

Justice works strangely. We had a woman with a history of traffic violations driving the wrong way on a highway and caused accidents, none fatal. They basically let her go. Now another woman caused a wreck on a local city bridge that's being repaired and they are throwing the book at her and she had the same past driving violations. Maybe it was because it was work area, maybe because they are hyper sensitive about the bridge getting fixed.
If I were to say the reasons behind the disparity in charges, its because one seemed to have some mental health issues and one had substance abuse issues.
