Bezos has been playing it cool, but if Trump keeps up his lying deceitful garbage about them, someone could get nasty.

And it so ironic that a president with a corrupt unethical business history would be so ignorant as to slander a company like this. I think the dementia is getting worse.

"...We spoke to a securities lawyer at a white shoe NYC firm who told us “Yeah, we’d probably be suing the **** out anyone who did this to a client.” And even more fun, that same lawyer was unclear if the president had immunity from a potential class action on something like this. And the White House source who spoke to Bloomberg was clearly trying to indicate that the West Wing is laboring to keep Trump’s federal securities violations to more of an “over the sweater” variety because there is no playbook for something this stupid and wrong..."

I report. You decide.

Unless said millionaire has the nerve to regard their "daddy" as the poseur that he is.

It's difficult for me to imagine a so called Republican President deliberately interfering with our free enterprise system and trying to wreck a private business. Whatever you think of Amazon's business practices they are operating within the confines of existing law and yet are being sabotaged because of a personal vendetta by Donald Trump.

But they're smart. They know how to work within the existing structure.
They don't have to pay benefits or maintenance for the postal workers/vehicles, so win-win.
They appear to be using private contractors now, possibly like Uber. Our Amazon deliveries are increasingly being delivered by plain-clothed people (no uniforms) using their own vehicles.

Just think of how conservatives would roar if Amazon pulled the plug on the Post Office all together.

That's why Trump has no credibility at all. He is one of the most corrupt businessmen this country has ever seen. Bezos is waiting for this to blow over because he knows the next scandal from the Trump camp is not far away. This is about Jeff Bezos and the Washington Post. It has nothing to do with Amazon. Trump is targeting Amazon because it's easier for him to implement his shady tactics for the hatred of Bezos.

Yeah, Prime Now and Amazon Fresh are reliant for the most part on contract workers who can make deliveries within a short time frame.

They would likely save themselves all kinds of money if they went to that model on a larger scale and yes, I imagine it would cause no end of outrage.

Excellent comment. All new jobs created by amazon is only a part of the jobs lost to retail stores. Here are just some of amazon practices:
1. Sell at a lost to bankrupt the competition, then buy them up and run them with less employees.
2. Many independent sellers use the amazon website. Once amazon recognizes a popular product, they ban such sellers and start to sell the products themselves.
3. Hire only physical fit people and fire those not productive enough, exploiting people to a maximum. Some people are left with physical injuries that amazon does not acknowledge.
4. Amazon invest millions in robotics, little by little less workers are needed.

This is just some of the practices that have made amazon what it is, and that Bezos' fortune is over $100 billions.

Trump's attack is just personal, no good can come out of it.

The word racketeering and abuse of power comes to mind... Mueller, Oh, Mueller....
Let's not forget that Obama's racketeering cost the taxpayers about a half billion dollars thrown down the toilet on that solar company that promptly went belly up. It works both ways....

The Republican-controlled Congress has been putting the screws to the Post Office for years! They decided that the Post Office should pre-fund their employees health care 75 years into the future and that has caused losses for the Post Office for the last 15 years. How many companies have to pre-fund health care for employees who haven't even been born yet? Zero - that's how many! The Postal Board of Governors is dominated by Republican members, who constantly deny increases in postage that also causes the Post Office to hemorrhage money. Meanwhile UPS and FedEx save money by shipping their packages across country and then dump them into the nearest Post Office for that "expensive last mile" delivery. That saves these 2 companies a ton of money!

Amazon has actually helped the Post Office preserve Saturday delivery. A few years back, USPS was going to go to five day delivery, which would have meant a big job loss to the Post Office. Now, there's even Sunday delivery for Amazon packages. Trump is an idiot. He plays fast and loose with the facts and pulls ideas out of his anus, when it suits his #fake-news tweets!
