LMAO...talking like you know about Detroit! You don’t know anything!!

The suburbs have lost a ton of plants too. Wixom closed, Ypsi closed, American Axle Poletown closed, Ford Glass in Monroe closed, GM Pontiac closed, Ford Willow Run closed, Volkswagen Sterling Heights closed...so let’s not act like the suburbs fared any better.
Chrysler Jefferson is closed dude. Where the f—k have you been? Lost in the Arizona desert? Ford Rouge is in Dearborn. What park of it is in Detroit? Henry Ford built it there to avoid high Detroit taxes. The city of Highland Park was founded so Ford could avoid Detroit taxes. Highland Park is now surrounded by Detroit. Hamtramck was founded so the Dodge brothers could avoid Detroit taxes. Hamtramck is now surrounded by Detroit. The Chrysler plant you referred to (Dodge Main) was torn down to make way for GM Poletown. GM Poletown is the only car assembly plant in Detroit, partial or otherwise. You proved my point!

Where in my post did I say that the suburbs have not lost any plants? I clearly said that some have moved to other cities and countries. There is still a huge automotive influence in the Detroit area which will benefit from Trumps policies.

Sometimes I think you are being a jackass just for the fun of it.

I see a pattern.
Forbes released a list of cities where African Americans are doing the best and Dallas and Houston with 400,000 and 500,000 African Americans (comparable to Detroit with 600,000) are both doing quite well and have upward mobility.

Detroit's black majority is a symptom of it's fall in economic stability, not its cause. Black people didn't move to Detroit, they just didn't leave as white people did .

Let's see, unemployment rate in San Jose is about 3 percent, lower than the national average. And homeless people are in every city. Crumbling infrastructure is a problem in most major cities, even the Republican ran cities. San Diego is ran by a Republican and has alot homeless people in some infrastructure issues. The homeless issue, well, mild climates attract alot of homeless. And America's cities have problems with their roads and schools in general. Tulsa, Oklahoma is a conservative, Republican ran city. Half of its schools are failing.

We are talking about Detroit vs other major cities in America. Detroit is the worst of the worst. Does San Jose looking anything like Detroit in terms of the decay and rot or violent crime rate?

Wow, another post about Detroit?

The obsession is real on here. Detroit and Chicago with a little Baltimore thrown in for good measure.

There are so many other cities doing well but lets use Detroit, a rust belt city that relied on car manufacturing. I bet half the people bashing Detroit drive foreign cars.

NYC is definitely unique. And while I can't stand Bloomberg or De Blasio the city stands out against many others in our country. I don't think they are the ones responsible for the low violence rate, they have kept it down though. Seems like the decline in violence can be attributed to the Dinkins and Guiliani years. One being a Democrat the other Republican.

What is unique is the same techniques that helped decline the violence there thru the 90's have been done in Chicago, yet the results are completely different. Why ?

The rest of the state did fine under those governors. Talk about that! Detroit had almost exclusively Republican mayors prior to 1962 and thrived. Talk about that!

It has nothing to do with R vs D, they both failed.

The rest of the state did fine? Shall I count the loss of manufacturing across the state of Michigan?

I’ll start with Lifesavers in Holland. Want some more? I could go forever.

Go there, it’s not like Chicago or Baltimore, there is no life, no peaceful coexistence.
