The problem with these laws is they're unfunded mandates for local governments to enforce laws not in their purview.

Uhmmm...this is the state doing this. What part of this is a unfunded mandate?

OK, the state tells - let's say the city of Des Moines - to enforce immigration laws that are the responsibility of the federal government, without providing funding for actually enforcing those laws. Where are the illegals being held in Des Moines?

Just one angle.

Exactly! When these pro-illegals have no viable argument for their stance they throw out the race against white Americans. What American of any race would want criminals roaming our streets and being given sanctuary by our cities or states?

And not a winning one. Iowa has no laws against that. Some states do, but most do not.

And in this case its the state doing this, not the federal government.

And on the local level, it's still an unfunded mandate.

It always fascinates me how some people will twist and turn and bend over backwards to defend people living and working here illegally, even throwing in the race card as a desperate attempt at a legitimate argument.

It's not only fascinating but mind boggling.

Yep, some people..and worse, elected officials...care more about illegal aliens than they do law-abiding, tax-paying American citizens. It makes me sick to my stomach.

Which is perfectly legal in that state. A TON of things at a statewide level are like that. the vast majority of your laws for example are unfunded mandates.

And if people at the city level don't like it they have pretty direct representation to argue about it.
