Evangelicals would be more respectable if they just admit they only supported him because they thought it would get them closer to a Roe vs Wade repeal, instead of coming with this "he's a true Christian at heart" crap.
Exactly. Exactly! I would have much more respect for THAT instead of all the twisting and turning and rationalization they talk themselves into.
As allegations continue to swirl about the president and a payout to a porn star to cover up a sexual encounter, evangelical leaders are organizing a sit-down with President Trump in June, four sources with knowledge of the planned meeting tell NPR.

Thanks to NPR for reporting on this.
Not really. The only reason they're concerned is because the Stormy Daniels story has legs and isn't fading away like they hoped it would. The way it's been dominating the news, they have no choice but to address it now.
But rest assured, if they could have simply turned their heads away and waited it out without having to deal with it, they would have.
No redemption here, just practicality.
They are just as undeserving of respect as they ever were.
It's funny. If Trump were still a Dem these people would have no problem condemning Trump for his history and behavior. With him being a republican now, they are just "concerned'.
Absolutely they would.
Evangelicals are one of the most hypocritical groups of people in the United States.
You are the only person on this thread turning this into a race issue. Identity politics at its finest, and you people wonder why you lost.
Race is a factor. Non-white evangelicals have pretty much the same beliefs as far as religion is concerned but their politics couldn't be more different. And when you think about it, the idea of "Christian America" that Republicans want to impose on everyone is a very white-bread version centered around fundamentalist Protestantism.
You just want evangelicals to stay home and not vote so the spirit of lawlessness (antichrist) can metastasize further.
Pharisees. They voted into power a man who embodies all seven of the deadly sins, yet they proclaim their piety - loudly - to the world.
