Listen, as I have posted, I think the summit lessened tensions for the time being. Which is a good thing. However, what did the US get out of the summit? It is what everyone is asking.
You boil it down, it is same old and same old for the US.
Kim is walking on the moon. He has legitimacy, China lessening sanctions and now a dispute between SK and the US on these military exercises.
They signed an agreement and NK is going to destroy a testing site. What more could you ask for in just an initial meeting? Reagan and Gorbachev didn't bring down the Berlin Wall in just the first meeting.
The North Korean test sight had already destroyed itself by accident back in November of last year, killing 200 of their nuclear scientists and technicians.
Kim has gotten Trump to cease military exercises. In a year, there won't be any American soldier on the peninsula practiced in his primary mission.
Kim has also gotten the equal recognition with the US president, which the Kims have wanted for 70 years.

It is absolutely STUNNING what Trump has accomplished at the summit.
Look people, if Trump doesn't get the Nobel Peace Prize after NK denuclearizes, then the Nobel committee needs to dissolve. It would be meaningless. Plain and simple.
NK has promised every president in recent memory that he would denuclearize. They even took some steps in that direction in the past. But it never happens in the end. Why would Kim do that? When the Kim dynasty talks about denuclearizing the Korean peninsula they mean the exit of US troops as well as any actions that they might take. Trump took a big step toward the US leaving by giving up military exercises that bother Kim. He got nothing in return of course, but a photo op. Appeasement is all this is and while you might get a peace prize for that, it will not, in the end, lead to peace.

Trump gave zero but North Korea and Kim Jung Un did get something. If NK don't get anything, they don't play.
Maybe they'd like to quit starving to death anytime soon.
When North Korea guards their own border, there has to be two facing each other to force each other to shoot the one who would defect, then a third to shoot both if they defect.
Their system will not last!
