Houston is even more diverse than LA, and nearly 10% of Houstonians conceal carry legally.

They don't have gang race wars because no one is scared of gangs and an armed society is a polite society.

Why can't we have that? Is it the Liberal whites who don't want Houston in LA?

Texas has a strong and deeply-rooted gun culture. But that's what's great about being an American, you're free to move to other places whose laws align closer with your beliefs and values.

When it is hard to prove a criminal action, it is common for the government to decree something more easily demonstrated to be a crime so that can be punished instead. The government could never prove Al Capone was a mob boss, so the convicted him on tax evasion. It is difficult to prove the group of young men with tons of cash and no jobs are actually involved in drug dealing, but if one has a gun in his pocket then he can be convicted very easily. Carry permits just make it harder to put them in jail so they are frowned upon by the progressive community.

You think population diversity is a driving factor in conceal carry? Please explain.

In 1923, California Governor Richardson took away conceal carry rights of American born Latinos and Asians.

Governor Ronald Reagan also banned open carry via the Mulford Act to prevent African Americans from protesting for civil rights with open carry firearms.

This is very difficult for the average anti-gun liberal white to deal with.

I'm sick of Californians trying to change Texas into California. I'd rather change it up and be a Californian trying to change California into Texas.

Both states have the same demographics. About 40% latino, 35% white, and the rest black, asian and others. Also, my parents won't move and they're old.

California is a progressive state. I don't see it changing to appease the gun people.

It doesnt work that way though does it? I grew up in LA and moved to Texas. I dont change my personality or values just because I move. I still have the same values and vote the same. Texans are certainly free to move to California and return the favor.

Thats what makes this country great. Were all Americans and we can be ourselves. Personally I could care less how many guns you own or if you conceal carry. My hot button issues are LGBT rights and immigration reform.

Progressive when used politically is a word with no meaning, just like liberal. Fell good terms with no reality attached. Ditto Conservative.

California politicians are all extreme far left. To them the only possible reason to own a gun is to murder people.
