Are you serious?

Could it be because that is a popular cover for people who are casing your neighborhood/house?

The even carry around props in case you are home so they can pretend to sell stuff.

I'd call the cops because they are in violation of the city-wide no solicitation ordinance.

If this news account is true, this man should be prosecuted and if convicted of a felony, be stripped of his guns.

i agree, the gun owner needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and if convicted, his guns should be taken away, and he be sent to prison.

What matters is that he got shot and why he got shot. If he got shot because he was a Black kid asking for directions, then we have a racially motivated shooting. The person who committed the murder should up punished severely. Period.
a few things here;

1: read the story and comprehend it

2: the kid was shot AT NOT shot

3: the kid is fine there was no murder committed

and this was racially motivated imo, and i am not one to jump on that bandwagon. however i can see where your past experiences have colored your outlook on reporting like this.

i am sorry you have had to deal with racist morons, they bring out the worst in people, and i think they need to be beaten with a 2x4 until they have some sense in the heads. but that might be akin to beating a dead horse.

Of course not. Though I may have ventilated the one in Mom's house if I was in it when he broke in.

What does that have to do with you obviously not reading through a thread posting something completely wrong?

Oh right. Nothing.

Seriously? You're going to call the cops and give someone a permanently damning arrest record because they MIGHT be up to no good?

How are they gonna get arrested if they're not up to no good?

Btw, our cops ASK us to call them for these kinds of people. Because the record is usually in favor of them casing the joint.
At the very least, they have broken one law already - the no solicitation law.

As we all know, nobody ever gets arrested without having been up to no good. Police is infallible that way.

Poor kid, walking four miles to school because he missed the bus is commendable and impressive. It’s believable that he could get lost, especially if he was going through residential areas. I would’ve felt more comfortable asking someone on the street or stopping in any business I passed but no one should ever think they would get shot at for knocking on a door.

The couple are quite a pair. WTH was wrong with the wife overreacting and yelling for her husband? Between the two of them, it was a disaster waiting to happen. If someone is paranoid, it’s better to just not answer the door.

What's goofy about this is how he kept persistently knocking or hanging out at the door after getting a poor reception from the wife, who eventually had to go get the husband to deal with him.
Where does the article say that he kept knocking, or that the wife went to get the husband?

Also, nobody is going up to a front door with a video system, getting caught on camera, and then going around the back to rob the place. You can make these stupid arguments here, but that won't fly where it matters.
