Pretty much. The best thing for a free-thinker to do is engage the tribalists and shut down their arguments.

Perhaps some of that is just politics. I remember the forum when Obama was in office, back then I would come across negative things about Obama online. But I never posted those negative things because I hate republican trickle down economics, republican deficits, and republican disregard for the poor (and I just simply want democrats in power.) And I would assume some/many republicans do similar things.

I stand corrected.

Hopefully the mainstream media and those certain republican groups will keep up the president bashing for our next president (whether its a republican or democrat.) There's republicans and democrats and perhaps the TRUTH is better than either of them.

Chad.
This is exactly what this country needs with regards to discourse; civility and understanding. You and I probably agree on many things, and probably disagree on many others. But we can at least have a civil discourse without resorting to name-calling and strawman attacks.

Not 2/3. A few. But those that pathologize voter agency are inherently and especially toxic to the nation's well being.

I would either not participate in or critique any parallel critique of liberals. We can argue, but when you attempt to pathologize the vote itself, you've crossed the line because there is nothing left to talk about. In a real sense, if you pathologize voter agency and thus remove voter agency then you've effectively undermined democracy. The only logical thing left to do is go to war, or have everyone reject he OP and his/her type of logic.

I can critique your political views, but I would never critique your voting agency. I fully accept that you vote in your interests. That's the only way that this works. The OP just needs o figure out if he/she wants to talk, or wants to fight. If he/she wants to fight, then there is nothing left to talk about and he/she should figure something out off of this forum and allow others to talk.

The key distinction between Trump supporters and the rest is their value system.

Yes, community happiness and harmony, as long as someone else is paying for it.

Yes there are. You should remember that yourself. You are the one who defined Conservatives as “every man for himself/kill or be killed”. I responded to a very narrow and biased(if not ignorant) definition of conservatives. Create a more thoughtful post and you’ll get more thoughtful responses.

in the first point of the referenced article, the expert accuses conservatives of being ignorant and then proceeds to add more insulting adjectives to describe us in his analysis.

gee, I wonder why conservatives refuse to embrace the left on any issue?
