And it was all the result of a white guy gun nut that refused to follow instructions from law enforcement. If Koresh and his cult members had just listened to LEO they would still be alive. Weird how the armed white guy gets sympathy for refusing to cooperate with LEO for days but an unarmed 12 year old black child is murdered and labeled a thug for playing with a toy gun in a park with many CD forum posters saying that his death was justified.
Easy, she was barricaded inside the house and refused to follow the orders of LEO. In an earlier incident, her son and a family friend had participated in a gunfight with LEO. Vicki Weaver could have come out of that house at anytime with her hands up and surrendered. She is responsible for her own death along with everyone else in that house that thought an armed standoff with LEO was going to end well.
Wow. Never thought I'd see such fascist bootlicking on C-D.
Shorman is just pointing out that every time a black person is murdered by police, people fall all over themselves saying if only the black person had cooperated, he would not have been shot. Never mind that he wasn't doing anything wrong to start with. You see it over and over again on here.
But when it's David Koresh and his followers, no one ever argues that all Koresh had to do was cooperate with the police and none of it would have happened.
The police act uniformly in both instances--too quick to pull the trigger. It's the reaction that's different. If a black man is shot, it's his fault for not cooperating. If a white religious leader and his followers are killed, it's not his fault for not cooperating--it's the government's fault.
