The filing of the lawsuit isn’t as far out there as some of the Trumpists in this thread are asserting.
1. The lawsuit takes events that are already known, and are subject to the Mueller investigation and wraps it into a lawsuit asserting damages.
2. If allowed to go forward, the Democrats could use the discovery process to gather more information for their lawsuit and for political gain.
3. The Democrats filed a lawsuit against the Republicans back in 1973 demanding $1 million in damages in the wake of Watergate. Republicans ridiculed it at the time, but on the same day that Nixon resigned the Presidency, the lawsuit was settled for about $750 thousand. It may seem frivolous now, especially by Republicans, but only time will tell what, if any, effect the lawsuit will have politically.
4.. The people most upset by the lawsuit would never support the Democrats anyway. It appeals to the base, and might help with base turnout in 2018 and beyond.
I'm meh on it but I can understand the logic that it don't hurt the base, but I think general public it may backfire on.
How about we look at theDNC servers to investigate further?
That of course would have to happen which is why it will not or it will be shown that the evidence had been messed with which would also negate any lawsuit.

The GOP Congress is largely the blame for the suit because they shut down the investigation and refused to force testimony under oath. A lawsuit with a judge will allow the DNC to subpoena documents and testimony.
I see Trump JR is named personally, however POTUS is not named.
