Some exceptions may apply. In this case all of the senate, and house.

Know what would be interesting? Testing the runoff from the urinals. Now that would be some awesome investigative journalism.

I feel that 100% of all government employees, local, state and federal need to be drug tested. There quite simply is no other explanation of the crap we see daily.

Yes that means DOT workers, sub contractors, all of them.
That means teachers, including at the university level. If that school accepts government money of any kind, then all employees must take drug tests.

Sounds great in theory, but guess who pays for public sector drug testing.

That's right.

And then, what happens when an elected official flunks a drug test? Then what? Special election?

It's a complete charlie-foxtrot in practice.

No, rarely do they unless it is something like a pilot, security, or something. There is the option to have a drug test conducted if their is reasonable cause.

Yea, people like myself could not care less if an elected official is on drugs, I care about their performance only, whether on drugs or not.

Or a teacher who is high off of coke, or a warehouse fork lift operator who is spiked up on heroin. I think it should be at the discretion of the employer. But as for requiring testing of Congress members. I'm like why bother? They have pretty much shown that they don't have to follow the rules like you and me. They can come to work drunk, or half baked and even kill someone while driving drunk, and all they have to do is make backdoor deals to get off.
