As much as Pruitt is an abomination, I can't get mad over this guy. The desks weren't that expensive and I've been the victim of a poorly designed desk that snagged my clothes.
It wasn't that many years ago everyone at Amazon (Bezos included) had desks made of 2x4's and a builder-grade door. They seemed to be able to conduct business well enough.

It seems like Trump is bringing back the good ol boys system to DC. Managers and high-ups in that system think they need their own office and luxuries. Doesn't work like that in the valley and that's why the valley has grown and accumulated to much wealth. Sorry for the rant.

I worked for one company where the CEO had a desk made from stacked up cinder blocks with an interior door for the top. This was a multi million dollar company, but he lead by example.
This is disgusting! If you look at median incomes, 4K is more than the majority of people make in a month. All these politicians and other representatives should be supplied with basic office furniture like every other worker in this country. If they want something special they can pay for it themselves. This country is in major debt but they still seem to come up with plenty of money to give politicians massively expensive benefits payed for by the taxpayers.

Does not matter who, the US govt wastes money. They've been buying $800 Hammers and $160 ash treys for the last 60 years.
My FIL used to price out contracts for companies. He automatically added 25% on any Federal Govt contract just because they could and were usually still the low bid.
