They certainly would not be where they are if Obama or Hillary was President.

Hard to say since so many broken promises before.

But I am optimistic because this time it feels more 'genuine.' Kim actually crossing the border to meet in person was monumental. We hardly ever see him in the media outside of the confines of what the NK state media shows.

Disagree, I think a threat only to South Korea, and I'm not sure he ever had the "nuclear" thing anyway.

Kim apparently has a long history of reneging and not honoring commitments.

Actually, he and Trump are alike in that way.

Making peace is better than being dead. The SK's treated him and wife like stars.

It will be very emotional when we see videos of separated families meeting for the first time.

Eventually someone on Rocket Man's staff will kill him.

The disinformation campaign of the left is in full discredit of all things Trump.

If this would have happened under Obama, be honest with yourself. The state media, the MSM, would have been fawning over it until the cows come home, Chris Matthews would have been talking about warm sensations and tingles up his leg, and Obama would have gotten 4 Nobel Peace Prizes for his efforts.

I don't agree with Trump on everything, but he has been very successful in dealing with North Korea so far. Is this one big PR stunt by DPRK? I don't know, but it's a lot more potential progress than what has been the norm for the past 30 years. The left freaked out last year when he called Kim "Little Rocket Man," bragged about a bigger button, talked about fire and fury, etc. But I give Trump credit, tough talk was what we needed, along with diplomatic pressure and help from the Chinese. This is a step in the right direction.

Let them work out the ground work. Trump will still have the final say on approval.

The toxic presence of Trump, could only sabotage the negotiations for peace, that are occurring now. You can be sure that Trump will try his best, to take all the credit, but the world will grant him nothing. The South Korean President, seems like the most likely Nobel Peace Prize winner. He was elected on a platform to achieve reunification and has been working towards that, for a long time.

If Trump tries to stick his nose into the proceedings and fouls them up, it will be just one more of the long string of destructive actions he has been wreaking on our country and the whole world. Everything has to be all about him. He cares nothing about the welfare of anyone else.

Both China and the U. S. are being rapidly pushed out of the picture in Korea now, which is as it should be. For the past 70 years, both these huge countries have been knocking Korea around, like it was a ping-pong ball. But Korea has suffered, not benefited, from this. If the two parts of that country are able to resolve their differences, the world should endorse that and contribute resources, but keep their hands off of any control they might want to gain there.
