Im curious about this, if we are supposed to ALWAYS assume someone innocent until they are convicted in court, wouldnt that mean at the same time, we are ASSUMING the victim to be wrong/lying?

If we assume the guy innocent, that doesnt say much for the women that report it...right?

True .

It’ll be interesting to see what happens . I’m thinking maybe a settlement to make it go away?
Of course if he’s convicted or admits to it , it’s the end of his career and won’t look good for CA Dems .

This isn’t a cheated on wife thing . Much much worse . It’s sexual assault of a underage girl that he drugged . Allegedly.

I would really hope someone wouldn’t make up a lie like that .

Rep. Tony Cardenas, a San Fernando Valley Democrat, confirmed Thursday that he is the unidentified elected official in a lawsuit filed last week in Los Angeles alleging sexual molestation of a teenage girl in 2007, but he vehemently denied the allegations.

The encounter is alleged to have occurred more than a decade ago when Cardenas, an avid golfer and advocate for a youth golf program, was a Los Angeles city councilman. The suit claims that the elected official gave the girl water with a "peculiar taste" on a Los Angeles golf course and then molested her later in a car.

Cardenas, one of the highest-ranking Latino members of Congress, leads the Congressional Hispanic Caucus' Bold PAC, which works to elect Latinos nationwide.

The suit states that the young woman came forward with the allegations because of the #MeToo movement that followed numerous disclosures of sexual harassment by high-profile business leaders and politicians. Now married, the woman wants "to be a strong role model" for her daughter, according to the suit.

If he is innocent, I agree BUT, according to a lot of dems, including the left media, all you NEED is the accusation!

How much press has been out about Trump and the prostitute?

Yeah it’s funny I noticed the L.A Times headline said it was “uncorroborated”

But when it’s Trump or another Republican they don’t use that word .

Unfortunately its also an extremely effective tactic to destroy someone and their credibility.

CA liberals are taking the “cautious approach “ with Cárdenas .

Is the #metoo movement asleep at the wheel on this one since Dems have an election to win right now ?

The cautious response to a sitting congressman accused of assaulting a then-16-year-old girl more than 10 years ago is striking after a year in which the #MeToo movement and the Roy Moore scandal dominated the headlines. Democratic Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota resigned in December after being accused of lesser offenses and after several of his Senate colleagues called on him to do so.
