Good for the judgement.

Anyone out there still think that this shouldn't have gone to court, that these people not hired should have just let it go and go find some other job where they are wanted?

'Old white guys' weren't hired, so restaurant chain to pay $3M in age bias settlement | Fox News

Quote:
A national restaurant chain that allegedly wanted only "fresh" employees and rejected "old white guys" has settled an age discrimination class action lawsuit to the tune of nearly $3 million, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Wednesday.

Age discrimination in hiring happens a lot, but most businesses aren't dumb enough to claim it publicly like this company did. What will happen after this lawsuit is that they will just tell people that they "went with someone more qualified" like any company does who doesn't want to hire people based on race, gender, or age. So it's a win for now, but it will never solve the problem of discrimination in hiring.

There is so much age discrimination in the workforce (companies usually do it quietly) that I favor the idea I recently heard about guaranteed government jobs. Many older job seekers are going to need this to survive.

One should have the right to hire and fire anyone they want for whatever reason they want. Anything less is slavery.

Victory for slavery. Hooray!

Quite surprising, especially coming from you. Conservatives are becoming more socialist by the day.

Of course it shouldnt have gone to court. A private sector business should be able to legally hire and fire someone based on age if they want. No ones rights have been violated. No one is entitled to a job,

That said, because someone should legally be able to do so doesn't mean they should. A smart business makes it about the actions of their employees and nothing else.

I would say I am a conservative populist. Both tbe far right and far left appeal to me more than anything centrist.

When I told a limousine lefty about this they laughed
Bear in mind we are talking about civil rights violations backed by a 3 million dollar judgement
Where is the outrage?
It’s not about the violation of law is it?
It’s about what group deserves the protection of the law

Democrats would demand the money without doing the work. Conservatives want to earn their pay.
