There is a young man who had planned a shooting and was somehow found out and arrested and now in treatment for his plan. He was being interviewed on NPR quite a while ago. Although the thoughts that made him plan a shooting and want to kill are still there he is in treatment and takes medication and knows he shouldn't act on them.

He explained his mental condition as the inability to accept rejection, he thinks he is perfect and nothing including advanced trigonometry, or quantum physics should be hard for him to do. When he fails at something it is not him but the world. Many of these guys had the girl of their dreams look at them like they were nuts when they asked them out.

It may have been an adolescent psychotic break. Hormone changes in puberty can really screw with your head. About 30% of those who show symptoms in their teen years will go on to full blown schizophrenia, the rest will recover and lead a normal life.

Yet you ignored the cause of the problem and reacted to a symptom.
For once, I'd like to see a post of yours addresss the issues you mentioned instead of deflecting to guns are bad. Those are the reasons behind the violence.
