Mccain has been a pain in the ass to trump. John is a good dad, an American patriot, and served this country for many decades, but he has been a real thorn in the side to real change. I won't miss him as a politician.
It seems that Trump is not wanted at many funerals. Barbara Bush, John McCain, etc...
This one will stand out even more as it will take place just a few miles from the WH at the National Cathedral in DC. Look for Trump to be out of town that day.
It's not like they can protest but yeah, I agree. I would far rather have my family keep the money one costs or give it away to someone that really needs it.
I would support--if his family was in accord--having Senator McCain lie in state in the Rotunda
I think his conduct in Vietnam when he could have gotten out of the prison due to his father's high position was exemplary
I didn't always agree with his political agenda but I was considering voting for him vs Obama until McCain chose Palin as his VP choice--that killed any desire on my part because I couldn't believe he would give in to the alt-right side of the GOP and choose someone so unqualified trying to pull those outliers into the GOP
That was death knell in some ways to McCain's part of the party...
I assume this option was offered by the WH and maybe the family didn't want it???
Because then you couldn't keep Trump out I guess
I like a Funeral to be a celebration. Yes it is the end of a life. It is better to remember all the good a person has done. Trump unable to act in a manner which would bring about a celebration.
I hope McCain is resting comfortably as he battles one last time.
I will not be at that funeral either. I saw him once, that was enough.
